Summer Programs & Camps in Guelph

We offer summer programs for dancers ages 18 months+ and summer camps for dancers ages 3-11.

Summer at PDA is filled with fun teacher-student time, free movement, competitive-level training, and kid-friendly music.

SUMMER CAMPS IN GUELPH 2026

For dancers 3+ 

Your dancer will love spending their summers at PDA. Each camp is curated for the age of our dancers and is packed full of dance, fun, and energy.

Learn some impressive new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and have a blast with your dance friends! 

  • July 13-17th 2026

    Half-day morning 9:00-12:00 pm

    Half-day afternoon 1:00-4:00 pm

    Full-day 9:00-4:00 pm

    (8:30 - 9 am drop off for half-day morning and full-day program, noon - 12:30 pm pick-up for the half-day morning program, and 4:00-4:30 pm pick-up for half-day afternoon or full-day program)

    Tuition: $265 full-day or $135 half-day

    • An exciting program for your little dancer to have their first camp experience!

    • Half-day and full-day camp is designed to assist with the transition of younger dancers to organized programs and is perfect for kindergarten or pre-school aged children.

    • Classes through the week in acro, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and musical theatre as well as a chance to let their creativity flow through free movement and creating their own choreography.

    • Camp is play-based and designed to keep your dancer active throughout the day with daily physical activity, interactive games, and outdoor play.

    • Theme days will have your camper excited to see what the next day will bring.

  • Before outlined drop-off and pick-up times are available for an additional fee of $20.00 plus HST per half an hour

Studio Stars Dance Camp

Ages: 3-5

(must be born between 2021 – 2023)

Half-day morning/afternoon or full-day

  • Week 1: July 13-17 (9 am – 4 pm)

    Week 2: July 20-24 (9 am – 4 pm)

    Week 3: July 27-31 (9 am – 4 pm)

    • Perfect for the Acro lover in your house!

    • Dancers will engage in a fun-filled week of Acro-based conditioning games to help them get stronger, with a focus on active flexibility and strength.

    • Daily work on balancing, limbering and tumbling.

    • Classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Musical Theatre as well as a chance to let their creativity flow through improv and creating their own choreography.

    • Designed to keep your dancer active throughout the day with daily physical activity, interactive games and outdoor play.

  • Prior to 8:30am and after 4:30pm for an additional fee of $20.00 plus HST per half an hour.

Acro Summer Dance Camp – Full Day

Age: 5-8 or 9+

(must be born between 2014 and 2021)

SUMMER PROGRAM – ACRO TRAINING 2026

For dancers 7+ 

We’ll take your experienced dancer to the next level with our Acro Clinics and Intensives by building strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, confidence, and body awareness. 

  • July 6—9 2026

    Session Times: 5:30-8:30 pm

    Tuition: $240.00

    DROP FEES: If your dancer withdraws less than 7 days prior to the program no refund will be issued. Withdrawal more than 7 days prior to the start of your dancer's program, you will receive a refund less a $50.00 administration fee.

  • 3 hours per day, 4 days

    Goal-driven program, with dancer’s goals leading their training.

    • Each dancer receives a Acro Goal Worksheet

    • Training is broken into key areas:

      • Limbering

      • Front tumbling

      • Back tumbling

    • Dancers work through individualized, actionable steps to reach their goals

    • Built-in reflection and progress tracking

    • Highly focused coaching and corrections

    Measurable progress in specific acro goals, cleaner technique, improved consistency, and stronger body awareness.

    Dancer must have acro experience and be able to hold focus in class for the 3-hour period. 

    This is not a summer camp. It’s an intensive clinic training program. 

  • Dancers will be assessed on the first day of intensive and placed into a group based on their age and ability at that time. 3 separate levels will be running to ensure dancers are working at skills at their ability level. Group sizes are limited.

    To register for the Acro Lab Program, dancers must at minimum be able to support their own body weight and have good knowledge of foundational skills and progressions such as fall to bridge, working on recovery, balances (headstands, handstands, etc.), and cartwheels. Ideal program for a focused and/or competitive level acro dancer.

The Acro Lab

A goal-oriented, acro training program focused on targeted skill improvement and measurable progress. For dancers with acro experience. Ages 7+ (2019 birth year)

Acro Intensive

A high-level acro training experience combining full-day instruction, expert guest faculty, new skills, and technical growth. For dancers with acro experience. Ages 7+ (2019 birth year)

  • August 4-7

    Session Times: 9:00-3:00 pm

    Tuition: $315.00

  • A comprehensive acro training program experience.

    • Train in multiple acro-based classes each day

    • Daily guest instructors bringing diverse expertise and progressions

    • Emphasis on overall skill development (limbering, balancing, front tumbling, and back tumbling), strength, flexibility, conditioning, and performance quality (through combinations)

    • Designed to challenge dancers and expand their acro vocabulary

    • Ideal for dancers wanting a high-level, full-day intensive experience

    Broad technical growth, new skills, increased stamina, and elevated confidence through an immersive training week.

  • Dancers will be assessed on the first day of intensive and placed into a group based on their age and ability at that time. 3 separate levels will be running simultaneously to ensure dancers are working at skills at their ability level. Group sizes are limited.

  • Twirl, tiptoe, and explore! Plié & Play invites little movers and their grown-ups to discover the joy of dance together through creative movement and a playful intro to ballet. With props, songs, and games, our instructors turn every class into a fun-filled dance adventure!

Plié & Play with Your Grown-up

  • Twirl & Tumble is a joyful introduction to dance for young children, designed especially for 3-year-olds. This fun and engaging class blends creative movement, beginner ballet, and a gentle introduction to acro (acrobatics) in a playful, age-appropriate way.

    Dancers will build coordination, balance, and rhythm through music, movement games, and simple acro skills like stretching, jumping, and rolling. Each class encourages imagination and confidence while nurturing a love for movement in a warm and supportive environment.

  • Perfect for a dancer that likes to work towards goals this progressional syllabus sets out skills for dancers to achieve and celebrate through the program. Our acro instructors are all Acrobatic Arts certified and our programs follow the professional curriculum.

    Acro classes consist of:

    • Acro-specific conditioning and stretching program, core, back and shoulder strengthening.

    • A focus on limbering skills and variations as well as building strength & stability for balances.

    • A tumbling portion which will teach fundamentals of tumbling and connections through level-appropriate drills.

SUMMER SWEAT CLASSES

We are excited to offer continued competitive-level training through June and August with our ever-popular Summer Sweat classes. We will continue to offer a variety of classes to keep your training hot through the summer months!

Summer Sweat classes are geared towards our competitive program dancers, with a minimum of 5 classes mandatory for any dancers wishing to be part of our 2026/2027 Competitive Program. They are open to any experienced dancer.

Class Descriptions

Summer Sweat dance classes are open to all Guelph and area dancers and are taught at a competitive, experienced level.

  • This class follows the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, combining the strength and flexibility of acrobatics with the grace and musicality of dance. Dancers will safely build skills in tumbling, balancing, limbering, and partnering, all while developing control, coordination, and confidence. Please note 2 hour Acro & Tumbling classes cost 2 class credits

  • This class follows the internationally recognized Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, focusing on classical ballet technique, musicality, and artistry. Students will develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and discipline through structured barre and centre work.

  • Designed for experienced dancers, this fast-paced class challenges you with a new combination each week in a variety of styles. Focus is on performance quality, versatility, and picking up choreography quickly.

  • This class will explore the freedom and fluidity of contemporary movement. Dancers will explore techniques such as improvisation, strong lines, and intricate floorwork while focusing on conveying emotion through dynamic choreography. 

  • This class focuses on the fundamentals of jazz dance, combining strength, flexibility, style, and rhythm. Dancers will develop strong technique through across-the-floor progressions, isolations, transition footwork, turns, kicks, extensions, and jumps.

  • This class alternates between lyrical and jazz styles, giving dancers the best of both worlds. Each week focuses on a different style, performance quality, and versatility. Dancers will learn lyrical or jazz combinations while developing control, strength, and musicality.

  • Designed for adult dancers and alumni, this class welcomes former experienced-level dancers back to the studio. Reconnect with your love of dance in a supportive, no-pressure environment while, building strength, and enjoying movement again. This class will primarily consist of contemporary, lyrical, jazz styles. Once a dancer, always a dancer—come dance with us!

  • Taught by former Queen’s University Pom Captain, Pom dance is a high-energy style that blends elements of jazz, hip hop, and precision dance, performed with pom-poms to create sharp, visually dynamic routines. Dancers focus on strong, clean movements, synchronization, and performance quality, often incorporating kicks, turns, jumps, and intricate arm patterns that highlight both athleticism and teamwork. Classes typically emphasize technique, stamina, musicality, and uniformity, helping dancers build strength, coordination, and confidence while working as part of a cohesive group.

    At many universities, pom is more than just a class; it’s a competitive varsity team sport

  • This technique-driven class uses targeted exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and alignment—key elements for mastering jumps, turns, and extensions. Dancers will work through conditioning sequences designed to support clean lines, control, and injury prevention, all while building the foundation for stronger, more consistent performance.

  • This class explores the fundamentals of tap technique, musicality, and timing. Dancers will work on clarity of sound, intricate footwork, and dynamic combinations, building both skill and confidence.

  • More than just a class, Tap Club is a deep dive into the art of tap! Dancers will explore tap history, watch iconic performances, and develop their musicality through rhythm training, timing exercises, freestyle, and improv tap jams. A creative, community-driven space for passionate tap dancers to connect, grow, and celebrate the rich legacy of tap dance.

These small-group training sessions are thoughtfully designed to target specific aspects of technique that dancers should prioritize during the off-season. Each week builds on the last, providing repetition and consistency so dancers gain a strong understanding of each skill area and can see meaningful progress.

  • This 3 week clinic focuses on safely improving range of motion while helping each dancer build a customized summer stretch routine. Dancers will learn effective flexibility exercises, proper alignment, and goal-setting strategies, leaving with an individualized program to support consistent progress and measurable improvement throughout the summer.

  • This 3 Week Clinic is designed for dancers looking to improve toe point, relevé height, strength, balance, and overall foot and ankle alignment. This focused clinic helps build the foundation needed for stronger technique, better control, and cleaner lines.

  • This 3 Week Clinic focuses on building the strength, stability, and flexibility needed for stronger jumps and overall performance. Dancers will work on leg power, turnout activation, control, and proper technique to improve height, form, and execution in leaps and jumps.

  • This 3-week clinic focuses on building strong, clean turns by developing proper technique and consistency. Dancers will work on spotting, relevé strength, arm and preparation placement, and correct retiré position to improve control, balance, and overall turning ability.

    Pre-Requisite: Dancers must be able to execute a single and/or double pirouette to attend this clinic.

    June 10th, 17th, 24th

    Ages 7+

  • This 3-week clinic focuses on building strong, clean turns by building on proper technique and consistency. Dancers will work on spotting, relevé strength, arm and preparation placement, and correct retiré position to improve control, balance, and overall turning ability.

    Prerequisite: Dancers must be able to execute a triple pirouette to attend this clinic.

  • This 3-week clinic focuses on building strong, safe progressions to gain these tumbling skills. Dancers will work on strength, drills, body control, and confidence while breaking down proper form for aerial cartwheels and back handsprings. This program is designed for skill development and progression.

    Prerequisite - Dancers must be able to back walkover, left & right cartwheel and one-handed cartwheel on both sides and have a solid round-off cartwheel.
